This week you need to work on your Marine Biome Project. Refer to your guideline sheet as you do the research. Remember the main topics are: physical characteristics, adaptations, and food facts. You must also include a food chain as part of your food facts.

Here is an example of an interesting fact about a physical characteristic about the Pygmy Seahorse: Pygmy seahorses are only 5 mm long. They are so small in fact that they were only discovered accidentally in 1977 once underwater photography became more efficient.

Food Ideas: Are they producers, decomposers or consumers? If they are consumers, what type of consumer are they? What are their main predators and which organisms do they prey most upon. Include any interesting manners in which they eat.

Be careful when writing about adaptations. Be sure to include why it is an adaptation, how it helps the organism survive.

Example: Unique Fact about Organism:Called the Costasiella Kuroshimae (or ‘Leaf Sheep’), this is one of the very few animals in the world able to photosynthesise its food, retaining special chloroplasts from algae in its body after feeding to use as energy to get through the day.
